Full Moon Meditation

Full moons remind us that endings are necessary to make space for new things and helps illuminates our attachments to “constancy” even if that is but a fallacy. It is humanity’s attachment to “status quo” that prevents us from achieving new heights. In the light of the full moon, what no longer serves us is brought into the light for us to honour the role it has played and to let it go, thereby making space for better things to come.

Every full moon provides the opportunity to connect to the light of the Moon and engage her power to heal, restore, balance and illuminate the darker aspects of self so that they may come to light.

Meditation is an excellent tool for connecting with the moon and asking for her help to illuminate and heal.

More About Full Moon Meditation

A full Moon happens roughly every 29.5 days. This is the length of time it takes for the Moon to go through one whole lunar phase cycle. Each cycle encompasses a journey, a beginning and an end.

The moon and its cycles have played a huge part in the lives of humanity since the beginning of time. Across the world, many traditions have honoured the moon and her cycles with rituals and celebrations, acknowledging the role that Lady Lunar plays in human life.

The full moon occurs when the moon has moved 180 degrees from its new moon position and forms a line with the sun and the Earth. At this time, the moon’s disk is as close as it can be to being fully illuminated by the sun. To sky gazers, the Moon appears as a complete circle in the sky. We see it as a full orb because the whole of the side of the Moon facing the Earth is lit up by the Sun's rays.

Full moons are symbolic of unity, manifestation and completion — nature’s expression of humanity’s oneness with the earth’s timeless and essential rotation around the sun.

The full moon and the periods before and after it are productive times to restore and bring balance into our lives. She draws out what needs to be released so that we can begin a new cycle, walk a new journey, and have a fresh beginning. It is both the closing of a chapter and the opening of a new one - a time both to honour what is ending and to welcome what is coming ahead in the ebbs and flows of life.

It is a time to re-calibrate our inner and outer worlds, bring about equilibrium in our relationships and balance our internal masculine and feminine energies.

Even if the light of the moon brings forth things that are not always comfortable to deal with, we must trust our own ability to face those things and deal with them so that we can progress on our personal journeys.

The moonlight is pure fuel for our projects, work and the energies of abundance. The full moon also provides an opportunity for us to connect with our divine selves and reclaim our power. Through the power of receptivity and the light of the full moon, we have the chance to harness and restore any lost sense of balance as the moon puts into the spotlight, what we need to face and heal from so as to surmount.

Every full moon provides the opportunity to connect to the light of the Moon and engage her power to heal, restore, balance and illumine the darker aspects of self so that they may come to light.

Meditation is an excellent tool for connecting with the moon and asking for her help to illuminate and heal. It is also a wonderful tool to connect with your higher self. In that quiet space, you can commune with the moon through your higher mind to gain greater clarity and wisdom on what is right for you.

At Incentre, we host periodic full moon meditations so that we can serve all who wish to find a space and time to connect with the moon in a supportive setting.
